Loose Scarecrow Festival

The second Loose Scarecrow Festival runs from 17th to 25th September, and who knows how many will show themselves this year?

All you have to do to enjoy the Festival to the full is buy the Scarecrow Festival Entry Form from Loose Post Office or The Chequers (£2), follow the trail to see all the scarecrows and find the clues, then solve the puzzle. Post your completed form in one of our special yellow post boxes on Old Loose Hill for a chance to win the prize draw.

Teas will be available from the Loose Amenities Association Tea Tent on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September and from All Saints Church on the following Saturday and Sunday. During the week gardens in the village will be open for teas and these can be found on the Entry Form.

Loose Scarecrow Festival Barn Dance

After such a wonderful week last year, the announcement of the best scarecrow and prize draw winner weeks later at the AGM seemed a bit of an anti-climax, so this year we've decided to round the Festival off with a barn dance which will take place on Saturday, 1st October at Loose Junior School, starting at 7.30.

Barn dance band The Whirling Skirmishers and local caller Margaret Browning have been booked to make sure the evening goes with a swing and we'll be having an American Supper, where everyone brings a dish to put on the supper table to share.

The Best Scarecrow and the winner of the prize draw will be announced during the evening, and there might even be some of this year's scarecrows in attendance!

The Barn Dance will start at 7.30. Tickets are £5.00 each and can be bought from Loose Post Office or on-line by clicking the PayPal button below.
